Pork Tenderloin with Pan Sauce

My mom tried this recipe the other day and totally LOVED it! So I figured I would have to try it for dinner this week! However, I thought all the pork loins looked a little small so I am doing this with a pork roast instead!

Again.. If you want to follow along.. make sure to go shopping for what you need. I will get a step by step up this upcoming week!

1⁄2 cups olive oil
1⁄3 cup soy sauce
1⁄4 cup red wine vinegar
Juice of 1 lemon
1-2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1-2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
2 tsp dry mustard
Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
1 1-lb. pork tenderloin (silver skin removed)

Combine all marinade ingredients and reserve 2-3 Tbsp. Place the pork tenderloin and marinade in a Ziplock bag and let marinate for at least 3-4 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a hot skillet over medium-high heat, sear each side of tenderloin for 2-3 minutes. Place in the oven and cook for 30-40 minutes or until the meat has reached 160 degrees. Let rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Pan Sauce:
Pan scrapings from pork tenderloin
1/2 cup of chicken broth
2-3 tbsp of pork marinade (thoroughly mixed)
1-2 tsp butter

Meanwhile, place the skillet back on the stove over medium heat. Add the chicken broth and scrape up all the browned pieces from the bottom of the pan. Add the marinade and let it boil down for 2-3 minutes. Add the butter and remove from heat stirring until butter has melted. Pour over the pork tenderloin.

Can't wait to try this!

Pumpkin Pull Apart Money Bread

Who doesn't love monkey bread!? I found this recipe for PUMPKIN MONKEY BREAD that I can't wait to make! I will be making this yummy treat this next week so if you want to follow along make sure you have all the needed ingredients.

pumpkin pull apart monkey bread3

Pumpkin Pull-Apart Monkey Bread with Maple Glaze
yield: 6 servings

for the dough-
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup warm milk
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons melted butter, cooled
2/3 cup pumpkin puree
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 2/3-3 1/3 cups bread flour

for the coating-
1/3 cup melted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

for the glaze-
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons half & half {or milk}
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

In large stand mixer fitted with the dough hook attachment, stir milk, water, yeast and sugar together. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes to proof yeast. If mixture is foamy, then you can continue. {If nothing happens, then odds are your yeast is no good, or you killed it with hot water and milk! Try to get your water and milk to be warm to the touch, like baby bath water.}
Stir in salt, egg, butter, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, and half the flour and mix. With mixer on, pour in remaining flour bit by bit until dough pulls away from the sides and is sticky but when touched doesn’t really stick to your hands. {For me, that was 2 tablespoons shy of 3 cups of flour.} Once you reach this stage, turn mixer on for 4-5 minutes to knead. Lightly grease dough and bowl and cover to rise for 1 hour. Stick it somewhere warm and draft-free.
Lightly grease a bundt or angel food cake* pan with non stick cooking spray and set aside. Create a coating station by placing sugar and cinnamon together in a small bowl and melting the butter in another bowl. Punch down dough and remove from bowl. Cut dough into small pieces about 1 tablespoon in size. Roll in butter, coat in cinnamon sugar and place into prepared pan. Repeat until no dough remains. If there is extra butter or sugar, pour over the top of the dough pieces in the pan. Cover pan with plastic wrap and let rise another hour in a warm spot in your kitchen.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake monkey bread for 25 minutes or until the top begins to brown slightly. Remove from oven and cool 20 minutes.
While monkey bread is cooling, prepare glaze by mixing powdered sugar, maple syrup, half & half and vanilla together in a small bowl until smooth.
Remove warm pull aparts onto serving dish and drizzle with glaze. Serve warm.
*I used an angel food cake pan that had a removable bottom and some of the butter and sugar mixture leaked out of the bottom and made a mess of my oven! If you are going to use a similar pan, make sure to place on a baking sheet, or wrap the bottom of the pan with foil.

I think everyone in the house is going to eat this up!

1. What do you miss most about being a kid?

I really miss having my meals cooked for me. I can look back now and really understand how nice that is. I lived with some great cooks and there were so many mornings I woke up to amazing smelling and tasting food. So yea.. I miss the meals without the work!

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

Yep.. Alot of my family called me " Kee " - clearly short for Kisha.

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

I really didn't like recess much. I remember it being cold out there most of the time. But I would always go for the

swings. I loved flying back and forth.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?

I always use to say I wanted to be a

writer.. but that really wasn't encouraged in my home and wasn't an option for me.

5. What was your favorite toy?

Toys huh? Well.. I didn't really play with a lot of toys.. Gosh.. I know I sound crazy but I didn't really play with that many toys but I liked the...

Do you remember this toy?? I thought it was pretty cool.. and made a ton of designs.

I thought about getting Jackson one lately and I read some reviews that said the ones now SUCK.. so thats pretty disappointing being I spent a lot of hours playing with this!

 Happy Sunday!

PJ Saturday..

Hello everyone.. YES I AM ALIVE AN WELL! I know its a shock for everyone when I only do 1 blog post all day long but I really wanted to take the day off the computer and spend it in my house. Nothing is more important to me as my home and thats where I focused my love and attention today. The first part of the morning, I was in husbys pjs.. All day long!! I decided early on that we were going to dig something out of the pantry and freezer for dinner because I didn't want to go to the market. And then after my early hot bath... I put on another pair of pjs! So that's been the kind of day I had.

I suppose you would think I would be lazy wearing pjs all day.. Nope. I got busy and totally cleaned out the study for Brandon. He should be moved in by October 13th. So I got that big job done. Now in the bed room is this giant sized table to hold all my office supplies. Just when I think we are done with house guest, another one pops in! So I guess it would be better to just keep that room a bedroom instead of a study!

As I said.. I didn't want to go to the market so it was..

Pasta night.

super easy.. and really good. I don't think I showed these yesterday when I showed you the dollar store stuff I got.. but I also got these really thin plastic plates. Perfect for dinners when you don't want big heavy dishes. I like them a lot. They are also great for lunch... They are pretty thin and perfect to haul around with us when we are packing the cooler. And Husby went and got me more of the

adorable owl kitchen towels! Thank you baby!

Anyway, I also decided to bake some..

cookies for dessert.

Who doesn't love chocolate chip cookies!?

It was a really nice day around the house. I got a lot done.. Laundry is all caught up..which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

I am not sure what's going on tomorrow. We might go to the fair but its suppose to be rainy so we might put it off a few days. But I can't wait to go! I love fairs..I love the food! Scott has to be at the dealership at 1pm tomorrow to sell a car to a police man. I am none too happy about it either but he said it should be really fast.

Ohh.. I talked to the breeder who I am getting the kitty from.. she said she is really small and is still having trouble getting in and out of the litter box. So she is going to keep her till the 14th instead. I kinda agree with that because Romeo was so small and he really wasn't that weened.. we had to buy special food for him because he could chew.. so I am kinda happy that she is keeping her a little longer.

Today ( SUNDAY ) is the last day you have to get entered into the giveaway to win these

5 Loreal Color Riche Lip Glosses. You can click here to see the full post with a video showing you all the swatches or you can just enter with the form at the top of the blog. I will be announcing the winner on MONDAY!!!!!!! So get yourself entered!

Also tomorrow I have my September Freebies post and video coming up.. stay tuned for that and I am also working on a few reviews and also a Ask the Housewife post coming up this next week.

Its late so I should be getting to bed..

Brittany sent me this picture tonight..

She is growing up so fast and THANK GOODNESS her hair is growing back out! Shes beautiful and I miss her.

Rainy Day

Saturday, September 29, 2012

Hello friends!

Happy Weekend to you all! Its a gloomy Saturday around here and I am still running behind with getting started on the house. I really need to get motivated and get started! I have been on the phone all day. Its been a " gabby " kind of Saturday.

Here in a few minutes I am going to get laundry tossed around and then start on either the kitchen or the study.. I think I am going to get my desk moved upstairs and then work in the kitchen for a while. I also have some shopping to do later but I am not really feeling it. Its raining here and I really just don't want to go out. Its 2pm and I am still in my pjs drinking coffee.. so

Slow Start To Saturday!

Jackson is no longer grounded and now watching tv. He played outside for a while before it staring pouring down. He keeps appologizing for deleting all those movies so I am hoping he understands why he got into trouble. But now he's at least free and not grounded!

Well I have a lot to do today. Have a great weekend!

I'll be back later!

I don't know why but I have been so sleepy this entire week. I have been in a slump or something because I have have just been so dopey. Maybe its been the weather.. and getting up early.. but this week is ending tonight and its pouring down rain. I couldn't think of a better send off to the blah week than rain. Its refreshing and calming.. perfect for this Friday Night.

It got..

dark around 4 pm.. but Jackson and I had a little shopping to do.

On the way home I snapped this picture..

of how dark it really was.

We got home before it really started to pour but

It really came down hard for a while..

Scott came home and we decided that it would be much easier to go grab a quick dinner instead of going to the market and cooking.

It stopped raining long enough for us

to get there... The courthouse looks so great at night..

Anyway..we went to our beloved...

This is one of our favorite places to grab a quick dinner in town. Love Newts!

But love these 2 more!!

They were cutting up left and right!

Husby and I are getting along great!

He is always reaching for my hand.

Jackson did his thing

of coloring and

puzzles till our milkshakes came.

Can you guess which one I got from the sheet below?

I doubt you can because I ordered the banana hot fudge and it was more like a chocolate shake with big slices of the banana in the bottom. I was actually kinda disappointed but whatever.. it was still good!

There the boys are waiting outside.

They are precious..

Scott got palmetto cheese dip thing..

I got this amazing spinach salad

With hot Bacon Dressing!

And we got a big order of chili cheese fries for the table.

Jackson got a cheeseburger but the picture was too blurry to publish!

Dinner was really good!

We were thinking of doing a little shopping but both Scott and I were really exhausted. Neither of us know why but I think it has to do with our bodies trying to get over the colds we had, the weather, and also because its getting darker a lot sooner.

Let me show you these really cute fall decorations I found today!! I was at the Dollar Store sorting through coupons, getting household stuff but I couldn't pass up these cute little things!

I thought these cute little fall ornaments  if you will.. was really sweet and they were only $1 a piece!

I also go this cute little pumpkin that I thought would look good sittings somewhere around the kitchen. I think this was $3

I also got this cute little

wooden harvest sign for another $1!!

Last but least I got these freaking adorable Owl Towels!!

I loooooooooooove these and think they were a steal for $1 each. I will use these all year long and since they were only $1 each.. I am going back tomorrow and buying more. Yep.. I really love them! And I have a couple Christmas gifts that these might come in handy for. And they are a steal!

So I don't know if you noticed the links are changed up a bit at the top. I am seriously tired of all the time spent on the weekends doing the weekly drugstore steals and deals. I am done with those long posts..being they are soooooo long.. they really mess up the blog and my feed all the time. Sooo.. I will put some links up over the weekend of a few sites that have great coupon match ups. I am sorry but I just don't have the time to do those anymore. I still love couponing and I will be posting a lot of great coupon deals but those massive posts are just too much!

So now there are quick links to

I decided to just make it easier to find certain things...Hope you like it!

You can click here to get to the full post but you can just enter with the form at the top of the blog!! Good Luck to all of you! I can't wait to see who wins these. Thank goodness for rafflecopter picking the winner because with 371 entries right now.. it would be impossible for me to choose! So get entered because you never know!

Tomorrow I have a lot to do. We have decided to put Brandon in the Study. There is a lot of stuff in there so I need to start moving it out. We need to make him a bedroom of his own. Plus the house is pretty messy. I was so non motivated this week. But it has to change tomorrow because there is so much stuff waiting on me to get finished. So lots of cleaning tomorrow.

Have a beautiful weekend!
