Sunday Inspiration

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday. I stayed up super late last night and it took forever for me to fall asleep. I think it was after 5am before I really got into a deep sleep. So understandably, I am running a slow today. Scott got up early and kinda hosted a pre golf breakfast and had a 9am tee time. I know he was up late too so I am guessing he will be napping while I am doing the grocery shopping later. Here lately, it seems like I have been had some pretty evil energy around me. You know those people who put their negativity in your life and if your not careful....you will let it in; and then it can spread. We all see evil everyday on the news don't we? Its here rather we want it or not. But what happens when it shows up in your life? For me there have been a few things that have happened. At first, I was struck off guard. Then I got angry and once that happened...it took a while to clam down and figure out how to deal with it. First I know God does not give us more than we can handle. I know that. I also know that life is a big classroom filled with numerous lessons for us all. But I fell short and thought handling it with my fast acting temper could combat evil and negative energy. All that did was get me worked up and still the energy was around. Not only did it surround me in a sense but it was starting to dwell inside me. It seeps in whenever you least expect it. Once I was able to have a clear thought...actually many clear thoughts I put together a plan to rid myself of all that energy and to focus on better things. One of the first things I did was have a serious conversation with my husband about what I was feeling and who I was feeling it about. It was brutally honest conversation that we had. We talk about everything and knowing I could tell him what I was thinking and feeling helped a lot. I then had a decision to make. Let this energy fill our home and our lives or to fight back. I am choosing to fight back. What does that mean?? I am certainly not going to actually be fighting anyone. But I am going to fight for my family, our happiness, our lives with grace. I have fallen short with grace when evil showed itself in whatever form.

I have said it over and over { maybe one day my brain will understand it } but we can't choose what others do but we can choose how we handle and or react to it. I am so emotional most of the time which makes it hard to see clear in difficult times. I can still stand up and fight off all the negative energy but in a way that is graceful and not distasteful. Sometimes I will get right in the gutter and fight back. I was made that way but I think one of the biggest lessons of my life is learning not to fight back. Be graceful. Everyday its a challenge. Its easy to love your kids. Its easy to love your parents. Its easy to love your husband/wife but its its not easy to be loving when faced with a horrible person. Love is not the first thing that comes to my mind in those kind of situations. Mercy is not something I think of often either. Most of us want mercy shown to us when we are having a difficult day so why is harder to give it for others? Another thing I am trying to do to keep the negative evil energy away to simply not let it in our home. Our home is our sanctuary. Its the one soft spot for Scott, myself and the kids to be so we have to be careful with the energy in the house. I think each person is responsible for the energy they bring into our home. I also think its up to us...the adults to always be mindful of how negative energy can quickly move in. As many of you know Scott's ex has been giving us all kinds of problems here lately. We could let that suck the life out of us but instead we are pushing that negative evil energy away. Simple as that. When I don't put grace first, it always always comes out worse. And believe me I am not very graceful when challenged. Its just not in my DNA. So like many of you... I am constantly learning how to cope better, how to love harder and how to forgive more. I think I like Eckhart Tolle's quote on grace the best....

I strive.. I want.. I need a resistance free life. I have a feeling I have a much longer journey ahead of me until I have that grace, ease and lightness. I think the important thing is...we all keep trying.  Thanks for coming and visiting today. I hope you have a beautiful and blessed Sunday!

Rainy Day Thoughts

beautyHappy Saturday friends! Its a pretty wet day around here and I am just enjoying watching it come down. Last night I was driving in this kinda weather so sitting at home is a total joy! Most people in my life don't love the rain as I do but its always been refreshing and calming to me. Being home with a cup of hot tea talking with you guys is a perfect start to my day! I thought I would let you in on a few of the thoughts bouncing around in my head....hope you enjoy!

I went to bed with a headache last night. I had one too many cocktails after my bath and instead of going to sleep easy.. I stayed awake for a while and developed a freaking headache. I got tired of fighting it and finally got up and took some meds that knocked me right out. Thankfully today it's gone.

Scott and I took off to our old town last night. its funny because I seriously don't know why we really moved because we are always there. We stopped at one of our favorite burger joints and enjoyed a quick dinner before coming back home. I love their steak burger but could only eat half of it so guess what's for lunch today!?

Me gusta | Tumblr
I have been kinda upset the past few days about Scott's ex wife. I know many many of you guys got your own nightmare ex's to deal with but I am pretty sure this bitch would take the cake for craziest ex wife. I swear she lives to cause problems. I am so so so so so very thankful she is 700 miles away. I would move even further away from her if I could. But Scott and I are getting even closer with all the drama. We are just holding on to each other and trying to be supportive to each other. He knows how hard this is for our family and is doing what he needs to show us all how much we mean to him. I know he loves me and I just have to not let negative outside evil forces steal our happiness. → And those are his words. ←

Me gusta | TumblrMy new Erin Condren Planner finally got shipped. Its suppose to be here by Tuesday of next week. Plus I have another order that is being processed right now too. I can't wait to get it. I am pretty sure if your a reader of this blog you already know it! But...also keep in mind, I am going to be giving one of you lucky winners a planner from Erin Condren too! Just stay tuned for all the details!

I need to run to the dollar store. However, as long as its pouring down....I am staying put. I am just starting to get where I can drive without having serious panic attacks. The accident where the car came over into my lane really messed my head up for a long while. Flipping over in the car and landing in a creek was not the scary moment I go back to. It was when they crossed the line that flipped me out so badly. Now I am scared every time I am beside a car that they are going to come into my lane. But like I said.. I am slowly getting better. But I am not driving on the wet roads unless I just have to....the Dollar Store can wait.

Me gusta | TumblrMy husband has planned this long weekend at Myrtle Beach right before Jackson heads to school! He has been planning the entire thing on his own. I know I am getting a full day at the spa while he plays a beautiful golf course with Jackson. Its going to be an amazing time...again.. HIS WORDS! I am totally excited and its really our last little family trip before the school year starts. Jackson is totally excited too! I think Scott has been having a blast planning this trip. And you guys know I will be vlogging through it! :)

Me gusta | TumblrScotts niece is having her baby shower today! I think we are skyping through it. I feel so blessed to have married into this family.  I only wish we all lived closer together so that we could see each other more often. Its hard being far away from each other but I am sure we will find a way to go meet the newest member of the family when he arrives!
Me gusta | TumblrI have a couple baskets of clothes that I need to put away in a bit. Why is that the worst part of doing laundry? I can handle all of it just fine expect putting it up. Here in just a bit I am going to get busy doing it. I will feel a lot better when its done.
Me gusta | TumblrLaura and the kiddos are coming to visit this next weekend. I think they will be staying until Monday or Tuesday. Did I tell you guys she is having another baby!? This time we think its a boy!!! We were all a little surprised at first because she already has two little ones but she came from a very large family so its not shocking. We are super happy to have them coming!
Me gusta | TumblrI finally got my hair done and covered up most of the grey. Its a total pain in the ass to have to dye my hair every month because of grey hair!!! Its the only thing that truly makes me feel old. Thank God for hair dye. I am going lighter and lighter because they blend in better when they do grow out some but its strange.. I have normally always had dark hair but anything to make it easier.

Me gusta | TumblrI still think about that missing plane all the time. I just know its at the bottom of the ocean. I wish they would find it because the families need closure. I think we all need and want answers to what happened. I fly.. do you? Its important that we find out what happened no matter how long it takes.
Me gusta | TumblrFree samples are hard to find in the summer months. I don't understand why there are always so many more in winter but I am always looking! I hate hate hate not being able to find any but if you do...please let me know so I can share them!
Me gusta | TumblrCooper is driving me nuts again today to go outside and play ball. Its surely not happening while the rain is coming down. He will turn into a muddy mess if I let him out. I am thinking about putting him on the treadmill for a bit and let him get some energy out.
Me gusta | TumblrI finally got my homemade jelly post up. If you haven't checked it out click here. Its super easy to make and the canning supplies didn't cost that much and now we have a huge stack of homemade jelly in the pantry! Its the perfect summer activity you can involve the entire family with. And lets face it...for big families its never easy during the holidays and homemade jelly is a wonderful gift!
Me gusta | TumblrI feel like I just can't get back on a schedule yet. I have been loving the summer hours. Its lighter out for longer so we are basically doing everything just a bit later which makes me stay up later too. So I have been sleeping in almost daily and love it. But I am not accomplishing near as much as I had hoped for. I am not sure if I am just going to suck up the summer and stick to the laid back schedule or try to actually get up and get a lot more done. Let me just say....the bed feels amazing!

Me gusta | TumblrI watched 20/20 last night after we got back home and let me just say...its heart breaking listening to Elliot Rodgers father talk. His son is the won who went around killing people in the black BMW.  I can't even begin to understand what his father is going through. And its not just him.. the victims and their families too. I don't understand why our country has become known as the gun country where we basically just kill each other. I wish something would happen that would get guns under control once and for all. Never forget...it could be your child next.

Me gusta | TumblrRomeo smells like Scott's cologne today. I guess he was giving those kitty cuddles away this morning. ♥ I am not the only one who loves that cat in this house. We have though been talking about getting another dog. Yep. And here are the top 3 contenders.
Which one do you think we will pick!? Belgium Shepard, Maltese, or Afghan Hound? We think its time for Cooper to have a friend!

Me gusta | Tumblr
My husband is super busy today. If it ever stops raining I thought I would go see him but not if he's that busy. I wish he didn't have to work so much. He's working hard to fill up that 401k so in later years we won't have to worry. I guess we are growing up because now we are really thinking long term. I told him just the other night if something happened to me anytime soon make sure my hair is in a pony-tale in the casket. ( And to be very honest, we are going to be cremated but with a showing first if its possible. ) See....long term. Its kinda scary because I would be lost without him. But we have right now and that's what really counts.

Me gusta | TumblrToday I plan on working around the house and maybe getting out to run to the dollar store.....if it stops raining. It looks like the sun is trying to peek out so maybe! The house needs some love and attention...all things I don't really want to do. I hope you are having a lovely day and I will be back in a bit!

Happy Saturday!

Friday Letters

Happy Friday Friends! I am back today with another edition of Friday Letters. Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday. I was just under the weather and still not feeling my best right now but on with the letters!
Dear God, Thank you for another beautiful week. This week you showed me what absolute misery and evil looks like and I am learning from you how how to handle it. I am not doing it so graceful as you but you know my heart and you know what I feel so just keep trying to put me in the right place.

Dear Romeo, Your kitty cat cuddles this morning was precious. Its little moments like we had this morning that remind me why you are the most beloved cat of the Jaggers family. I don't think there will ever be a cat that can top you.

Dear John Boehner,   I hate you. I hate everything you say and everything you stand for. I understand freedom of speech so your allowed to run your mouth anytime but I wish you would just go away. Same goes for Bill O'Reilly and Newt Gingrich. You won't be missed.

Dear Brittany & Jackson, I am so very happy that you two have got along the past few days. You guys have got to make things a little easier for your dad...you know hes not use to so much commotion! He needs breaks too.

Dear Scott, I know you think I hold it against you that you made a huge mistake with your ex 12 years ago who is now doing her best to destroy anything and everything good in our lives. Its like dealing with Satan himself with her. I am not angry at you...but I am so fed up with the bullshit she brings into our lives. I am very much in love with you. I love our life together. However, you need to get that dumb bitch under control. I have breaking points too you know. I won't let such evil and dark energy in my home let alone my life at this point. I think its time I break out my red bracelet again. I thought after Billie Watteau died most of the evil energy died with her. Nope. We still have it. And I pray every night it just goes away or we run away together. Life was so much better when we didn't talk to her for years on end. I regret so many things now including going ahead and reading that October email from her. It should have been directed right to freaking spam that very moment. See....I am in fact, learning from my mistakes. NEVER AGAIN. Ohhh... I love you...and I still want a damn bird! :)

Dear Body, All day long yesterday you were betraying me. I was sick in so many ways and ended up laying on the couch all day long. I thought I was dying. I am pretty sure Scott passed us the bug but today you are feeling a little better. Please Please be better to me today!

Dear Trina, Thank you for all your help yesterday. I will have the book, charger, and money ready for you tomorrow to go into the mail. I love you and so very thankful that you are always there for us. We hope someday to repay you for all the love and kindness you have shown us over the years. Scott and I love you bunches!

Dear Barbara Walters, I can't wait to watch your interview tonight. I am sure it will be a good yet very sad time listening but I am very interested in watching.

Dear Cooper, I know I bitch about you kinda being a aggressive golden retriever but I kinda like feeling protected. You just keep barking anytime you need to!

Dear Dad, I miss you. My real dad has never been there and you are the only dad I ever had or will ever had. I am pretty much sure that I will never speak to your son again unless he contacts me which we both know will never happen. You were the one pushing us to talk again the last time. There is no one pushing us now and I don't think either of us really care. What I care about is missing you. I know you here... I can feel you all the time but its still sad because our conversations are one sided now. I talk... and hope you can hear. Sometimes I just want to hear you tell me that everything is going to be ok. Maybe it was you blowing out all those lights in my bathroom this past week ( again ) idk...but I am still learning to deal with all the things you warned me about and its not easy.

Dear Laura, I can't wait to see you and the girls this weekend! It should be a great time! We don't get to see you guys much so Scott and I are both happy to have you here. Thanks for fitting us in! :)

Dear Mom, Sorry I didn't talk much yesterday. I was super tired and sick. Scott passed off some bug to me but I would love to catch up. Call when you can. I love you!

Dear Bath Tub, You have been my little piece of heaven right here on earth. Its the only place I can go and really not be bothered in anyway. Well, thats not true. Sometimes a kitty cat jumps up and falls in but most of the time you are my one happy place in the house!

Dear Vicki, I really wish Scott and I could be there for your baby shower. Its hard to make that trip alone and your uncle Scotty don't get a lot of time off. But I hope you like the gifts and maybe we can skype during it! I can't wait to meet your baby! ♥

Dear President Obama, Hilary is changing my thoughts on you a little. I still like you but your so not a team player. Not judging....I'm not either but I want HER in the White House next. I don't think comparing Hilary to your wife was fair either. You can't compare the two women. Hilary is BY FAR more respected and knowledgeable. She's been playing with the big boys for years and has more experience in her pinkie than most people on your team. Lets not get too crazy now.

Dear Laci, I can't wait to talk to you later! Lots to chat about! :)

Dear Bed, you felt amazing last night. A good nights sleep can do the body well! I snuggled right in you and your soft blankets and dozed right off.

Dear Shanna, I wonder what is going on with you today. Can't wait to hear!

Dear Erin Condren, My first box is on the way!!! Fed Ex says I should have it by Tuesday of next week! Totally excited! I hope my 2nd box gets here soon too! I need to send you an email later today....* reminder!

Dear Bloggy & Youtbue Friends, You guys are always so sweet to me. I love getting to know you. I am going to be answering some comments today and tomorrow and try to get caught up. Little by little I am working on answering emails back. Thank you for taking a few minutes of your lives to spend here with us! Happy Friday!

Croque Monsieur on a Croissant Recipe | VIDEO |

Wednesday, June 25, 2014

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful evening. I am back with a wonderful tasty recipe that is to be sure a hit in your home as it is in mine. This is a Croque Monsieur on a Croissant. Its basically a grown up hot ham and cheese sandwich. Everything you need to know is in the video and there is even more information and the recipe below!

Here's the recipe...

1 tablespoons unsalted butter
1.5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup hot milk
Pinch of Salt, Pepper and nutmeg
6 ounces Gruyere, grated (2.5 cups)
1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan
 honey ham, sliced

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Melt the butter over low heat in a small saucepan and add the flour all at once, stirring with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes. Slowly pour the hot milk into the butter–flour mixture and cook, whisking constantly, until the sauce is thickened. Remove from heat and add just a pinch of salt and pepper along with some nutmeg. Also add a small handful of the grated Gruyere, ( about 1/2 cup ) and the Parmesan and set aside.

Halve and toast the croissants, place the slices cookie sheet and brown in the oven. Leave on one side for about 2 minutes then flip and leave in for another minute or so. You just want to lightly toast them.
Coat the croissants with mustard, add  ham and sprinkle with remaining Gruyere and add the tops of the toasted bread.

Drizzle the tops with the cheese sauce, sprinkle with the remaining Gruyere, and broil the sandwiches for2 - 3 minutes until the topping is bubbly and lightly browned. Serve hot with a simple salad and enjoy!

Wednesday Hodgepodge!

Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup.. join in anytime! Hope you enjoy.

1. What summer activity most takes you back to your own childhood?

Playing out in the park that was connected basically to our back yard. Sunny days, my brother on his bike...scrapes and bruises all over us. Lots of walking and sleeping well from a fun day out.

2. What's your favorite summer smell?

The sweet smell of honeysuckle is my favorite summer scent!

3. It's beach season in the US of A...so how do you feel about sand?

Love it. I wish we had a house on a beach however... I do believe that big big ocean can take over anytime it wants. But I am a total tropical girl!

4. Sun tea, SunChips, sunflower seeds, Capri Sun, Sunny Delight, Sun-Maid raisins, sun-dried tomatoes...your favorite food or beverage with sun in its name?
Sunny - Side Up!  I love my eggs sunny side up with a couple pieces of toast!

5. What's your favorite way to cool off on a hot summer day?

Well I normally like it pretty warm but if I get really hot I will either go swimming or take a cool shower to kinda refresh me. I don't run the air all summer because I don't want to be cold. At night we keep it about 75 and during the day its kinda warm but the ceiling fans keep things cooled off pretty well.

6. Share a favorite song with the word sun or sunshine in it's title.

7. Tell us about a time you had an exceedingly good or truly awful customer service experience. If it was awful, did you report it? Ever go back there again?

We had a bad waitress not to long ago. It was pretty frustrating getting her to just do the basics but we didn't say anything. We tipped her some but not near as much if she had just been nice.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

Sometimes I feel like I am surrounded by the most amusing bunch of lunatics on the planet. It can be quiet taxing. I am doing my best to cope with it but there are days when I seriously want to run away. I can't. The kids wouldn't like it much! :) But you know, I am just going to keep going day to day and try to keep a smile on my face! I think that is why I like the comfort of my home so much. I feel safe and secure here. And anytime I can shut the computer, turn off the phone, and just disconnect from everything. At times, I kinda like it. I suggested to Scott that we move out west, shut down the blog and youtube channels and just go into hiding. We would have to keep our numbers though for all the kids! Eventually they would track us down! I need to get up and get a few things done around the house and figure out what's for dinner. Its been one of the slowest starting days of the week for me but hopefully I will move right into the evening with a little more motivation! I hope you have a beautiful and blessed week!

Battle of the Boxes! Ipsy vs Birchbox vs Goodebox! | VIDEO |

Tuesday, June 24, 2014

Hello friends! I am back with a different video of sorts. I normally post subscription boxes in separate videos and blog posts but I thought it would be fun to compare them this month! So there are 3 total. The Birchbox., Ipsy. and even the Goode Box! If you want to see which one I liked best of all...enjoy the video! More pictures and info below!

More about the subscription services:

Ipsy is a monthly subscription service for $10 a month. There use to be a waiting list but I think you can get subscribed right away now. This is more beauty oriented than the others and normally comes with 4-5 items.

The June Ipsy Bag came with a lot of nice things this month. They included a new kind of BB Cream, a Bombshell Mascara in black. Also included was a electric blue liquid liner and a NYX Butter Gloss. And there was a hair product for beachy wavy hair. Every ipsy box is actually a bag that always contains the cutest little makeup bags.

Birchbox is another $10 a month subscription service. This box contains beauty, grooming and life style products that normally comes with 5 + items.

The June Birchbox was contained some unique Shampoo, oil and conditioner, a sample of Aloe Source face cream. Also included was a pretty coal Laqua & Co. lip gloss..the box smelled so amazing from the Perfume sample that was also sent. I think the most interesting item in the box was the Liz Earle Facial Scrub and cloth. Its in that pretty blue box and I can't wait to try it. :)

Goode Box is a subscription service that you can test out more natural beauty and health items. These items are all natural, unique hand picked items but this one cost $18 a month or you can change up your shipping schedule to bi monthly if you wish!

The June Goode box. This contains more natural organic products. This box has some hand and body cream, makeup wipes, sun screen, a kinda petroleum jelly alternative, and natural deodorant. There was also  a eye shadow pigment.

If you want to see which one won the battle....you will have to watch the video above!

Happy Tuesday!
