DermaSilk 90 Second Eye Lift, 5 Minute Face Lift, & Flawless Cream Demos, Reviews, & Giveaway!! | Video |

Saturday, February 28, 2015

Hello friends. I hope you are having a wonderful day! I am back today with a new skin care video and giveaway! Recently I was contacted to try out 3 new DermaSilk products and I couldn't say no! A couple years ago I reviewed the DermaSilk Night Time Face Lift that I really enjoyed using. I enjoyed it so much that I have bought it more than 3x since. :) So you know I had to say yes when asked to try out the DermaSilk 90 Second Eye Life, 5 Minute Face Lift, and the DermaSilk Flawless. You can see everything in the video and below is more pictures, information and the giveaway form. Hope you enjoy!

So the first item they sent me to try out was the DermaSilk 90 Second Eye Lift. With this product you apply it to clean dry makeup free skin. One pump is enough for both eyes. You apply it in a upward motion over your fine lines. wrinkles and crows feet. This formula claims to significantly tighten the skin around your eye area, reduce puffiness and lighten dark under eye circles. When I used it for the first time it was extremely tightening and felt amazing. I don't know why I love that feeling but I do! When using this the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles fades along with those crow feet that we all hate. I felt a difference right away and within about a minute you could tell that the fine lines around my eyes were less visible as were the crow's feet.

The next product I tested out was the DermaSilk 5 Minute Face Lift. I am moving right into my 40's and my skin and face is starting to change. I see more wrinkles, fine lines, crows feet, and even sagging skin. With the exception of major surgery, there is not much you can do expect try some new products to help. This 5 minute face life has an immediate flash effect. It gives your skin a lift that lasts up to 8 hours and improves your skin with continuous use. You just apply it with your fingers to clean dry skin. You can use it on your face, neck and on your chest area. I like to apply it to the back of my hands when I am done with the left over to help keep my hands looking younger. This product gives you instant results that you really do see. You can add your moisturizer or night cream right on top of it...and you don't need to wash it off first. I have used it mostly in the mornings but for maximum benefits you can use it morning and night.

The final product they sent me to try out was the DermaSilk Flawless lotion/serum. This one is a bit different. The big claims with claims with this product is it will make your skin look 10 years younger in 40 seconds or less. It has no tint and erases the appearance of skin aging, lines, wrinkles, crows feet, sagginess and enlarged pores within seconds. This product was originally developed to help skin look better due to high definition motion pictures. HD shows everything and this cream was created so that the imperfections many of us have could be blurred on the camera. All my videos are HD and they show every little imperfection I have. I can totally relate! You can apply this in a few different ways. You can use it without makeup and apply it as the last step in your morning skin care routine. If you use a liquid foundation you can apply it after you put on your foundation. If you use a mineral or powder foundation, you should apply it first. Also if you have dry skin you can mix it with your normal moisturizer to apply it. There have been days when I have used it on its own just to help even out my skin when I am makeup free.  Other days I have applied a small amount using my fingers over my foundation for a more air brushed effect. I was impressed again with how well this product worked for me. I have larger pores on my cheeks and love that it helps conceal that a little bit more without piling on tons of foundation, cover up or powder.

All three of these products cost $20 each and you can find them at your local drug store. You can even find them at Walmart or on their website I think that is a pretty good price for the results that they give. You should be eating healthy and drinking lots of water to help your skin stay youthful but products like these sure help too. None of the ones I tried irratertaed my skin or caused break outs. You have to be careful not to use too much because you can get a white flaky residue but just use a warm washcloth and pat the area to remove the excess. Besides that, these products have really helped my skin just as the DermaSilk Night Time Face Lift.

I am rather impressed with all the DermaSilk products. I am actually thankful for the help! They are very easy to need very little of each to get the desired effects and they improve your skin with continued use.

DermaSilk is hosting a giveaway so one of you will be get one to try out all 3 products yourself! This DermaSilk Giveaway will run from today February 28, 2015 until Saturday March 7, 2015.   The giveaway is open internationally.  All entrants under the age of 18 must have parental permission to enter.  The one winner will win The DermaSilk 90 Second Eye Lift, The DermaSilk 5 Minute Face Lift and the DermaSilk Flawless Erase.

Friday Letters ♥

Friday, February 27, 2015

Dear God,
Thank you for another week on this world. I might not always show how grateful I am but I am glad that you know deep in my heart that I am. Every second counts and I will never take that for granted.

Dear Thursday,
I am so glad you are over. You were my " Monday " and it was just not my day. I didn't feel well and the day did not start as I had planned and certinally didn't go the way I wanted throughout the day.

Dear Brittany,
I am sorry that you are still without wifi. Maybe you shouldn't lie to your parents!! Remember you get double the punishment for not being honest. I love you....and this won't last forever!

Dear Cooper,
You look so comfy laying on that couch. I guess it's better than the floor huh!? Maybe we can go for a walk later today if it warms up.

Dear Mornings,
It's been so hard to drag myself out of the warm bed on cold mornings. I seriously can't stand it. Today was no fun getting Jackson to school for the 2 hour delay. Sitting in traffic first thing in the morning doesn't make me a happy person.

Dear Mom,
You always stay so busy. I can't wait to see you on that big boat in a few months. :) Love you!

Dear Jihadi John,
I hope they give you the same the respect you have given to all the victims that you killed in God's name. Nothing is going to enough, except a bullet in your head. It might sound terrible but you have caused enough pain in the world already.  You really don't want to know what I wish they would do to you. Now we know who you are....your death warrant is already signed. Don't worry... we will leak your death photos online just like you do and maybe you will be able to see them from hell.

Dear Romeo,
you look so comfy laying beside Cooper. I guess everyone in this house is tired today. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Dear Jackson,
You need to clean your room!!! I love you. Have a great day at school!

Dear Coffee,
You are NOT working yet. Where's the energy? Maybe I have just been drinking you for too long for you to actually work. Idk.

Dear Laura,
Thank you for the yoga tips. Its been making me feel a little better. We love you. Kiss the kids for us!

Dear Shanna,
Sorry I was such a grump last night. It was just a long day and I needed some sleep. We'll talk in a bit!

Dear Snow,
I liked seeing you the FIRST TIME. Now...I'm over it. The sun is out today and working hard at melting you all away. Goodbye till next year.

Dear Body,
I guess its time to make up for all those years I abused you. I feel old and you hurt more and more. I need to start eating better and doing a little bit of exercise in hopes it helps. Maybe the next part of my life will be healthier than the first.

Dear Jordan,
I wish you were around. I feel like you are missing out on so much time. It's your choice...we love you regardless.

Dear Emails,
I really need to catch up on always!

Dear Scott,
I wish you didn't work so much. I guess it's just the business but I miss you. We miss you.

Dear Carrie,
its been a while since we have talked. We need to catch up! I hope your feeling ok.

Dear Laci,
I wish you were closer! I wish we could just meet up for lunch. I miss my sister.

Dear House,
I need to work in you today. I am kinda getting a late start but you always get my time regardless if I want to give it or not. I wish you could clean yourself.

Dear Video,
you are also on today's to do list today. And you will suck up a lot of time. But I still love it so I'm not complaining. Just another thing to do in the next little bit.

Dear Jackson,
Like Brittany, if you make the choice to do something bad, you have to be able to live with the consequences. It's just life. both will be fine without internet. I promise.

Dear Passion Planner,
You came in today!!! I can't wait to review you and then give you away to someone who really wants to start fun!

Dear Blog & Youtube Friends,
Thank you guys for coming back and sharing our lives with us. I feel like I the best subscribers and followers ever. The emails that come in and comments left, just remind me that there is actually some good in this world still. I hope you guys have a beautiful and blessed Friday. Stay tuned for a new video popping up soon!

Wednesday Hodgepodge { Evening Edition }

Wednesday, February 25, 2015

Happy Wednesday Friends! Time for another Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce from over at From This Side of the Pond ....this is always such a fun linkup that I love doing. Hope you enjoy!

1. Did you watch The Oscars? How many of the Best Picture nominees have you seen? (American Sniper, Birdman, Boyhood, Selma, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything, and Whiplash)

Do you think actors should use their acceptance speeches as an opportunity to promote their political and/or social agenda? Does that sort of speech make you more or less inclined to change the channel?

I've only watched one so far....The Theory of everything was simply heartwarming and touching. I actually bought it on Amazon Instant Video so we now own this movie. It's always nice being able to go back and watch it again.. you'd be amazed at how many things you pick up the second time that you missed the first. Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel don't interest me. I do however want to see American Sniper and The Imitation Game. As soon as they are avilable either on line or on demand, I'm sure I'll be watching them. I looooooove a good movie! Tonight I watched a movie called Easy Virture that was so freaking cute. I totally loved it!

I'm pretty political and I am sure if I had that kind of moment on tv I might open my big mouth about it! I don't really mind. I am not a huge huge fan of the boring Oscars anyway. I watched for the first hour and a half and then I had to move on. Then I got the highlights from the Daily Mail! :)

2. Speaking of the movies... are you comfortable going to a movie alone? How about dinner in a restaurant (not fast food, but an actual restaurant)? The second half of this question was posed by Carrie who blogs over at It's Not Easy Being Queen. Thanks Carrie!

To be honest. In my 39 of being on this planet I have only ate out alone one time and I have never been to the movies alone. I just can't do it. I never been to a bar alone either. I actually feel comfortable being alone but not like that!

3. What's the last home repair or home improvement project you had to pay someone to complete? In hindsight was this a project you could have done yourself?

We had a leak in the roof and paid someone to fix it. It was totally worth it because I am married to the least handy husband on the planet!

4. Have you ever had Indian food? Like it or no? If you're a fan, what's your favorite dish? Have you ever prepared this yourself at home? Is there an Indian restaurant in your current hometown?

It's ify with Indian food for me. I don't typically like a ton of spice in my food. But their bread is amazing. I can and have made Indian flat bread which is to die for. maybe I should record a video sometime and share it! :)

5. A song that reminds you of your parents?

Omg.. what a great question. I have actually thought about this. I can't think of a song for my mom sadly enough but one for my grandfather ( whom I considered my dad ) this song.

6. The 26th of February is National Tell A Fairy Tale Day. What's your favorite, or one of your favorite, fairy tales? Do you have any childhood memories associated with a particular fairy tale?

I like Cinderella of course.. and have you seen they have remade the movie!? I can't wait to see it. My best memory of Cinderella is taking my daughter to Disney where they dressed her up like Cinderella and took pictures. It was so sweet and she loved it!

7. What's a problem you solved yesterday?

Well, I guess the only critical problem I fixed yesterday would have had been setting up all my big lights to film a video because it was so dark. I hate setting those big lights up but it was necessary. So all in all, I solved my simple lighting problem.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

It's snowing like crazy here right now. The schools are cancelled and Scott might not go to work tomorrow. I really feel bad for all the animals outside. Our dog cooper loves it but he's only out for a short time. But we are staying home and being safe. They just said we are going to be getting 2 inches every hour. So who knows what it's going to look like in the morning. Right now the deck is full of snow. I skipped a fire today because I got my nails done and didn't want to mess them up working in a dirty fireplace and the wood chips the paint so I just turned the heat up a bit and maybe I can get Scott get it going in the morning. I hope all you guys are staying warm and have a wonderful Thursday. See ya tomorrow. ♥

Recent Empties | Reviews on Product's I've Used Up |

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great day! I am back with another video to share with you guys. This time I am sharing some of my most recent Empties. This is not a video I make often because I am always trying out new products and it takes a while to use them up. I keep a little basket under my bathroom sink and when it's full...I film and share it! I kinda do mini reviews as I take you though all the products that I have used up.

Thank you for stopping by. We are suppose to get a lot of snow tonight and tomorrow. School has already been cancelled for tomorrow so we are prepping to be in for a day or two. I have a bunch of firewood to bring in and I think I am going to do a little baking to help warm the house up with the oven. I hope you guys are staying warm too. And please remember to bring in your outside animals. If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them.  If you are new here, I'd love it if you took a few seconds and subscribed so you don't miss anything. :)

Organizational Planner Shopping Haul! | Video |

Tuesday, February 24, 2015

Hello friends. I hope you are having a great evening. I am staying inside and staying warm on yet another cold winter night. You guys know I love planning and organization. I thought in the spirit of planning, I would show you some of the new items I ordered for my planner. Oddly enough, just yesterday I placed another big order that I will have to share with you on instagram and a vlog maybe. :) In the meantime you can check out my latest planner haul below!

Even though I do have a lot of stickers and washi tape...and even more on the way, I am not over doing it with my planner. The Erin Condren that I was using was a bit too bold and bright for me. All the washi tape and stickers was making my head spin. Now I am being a little more picky on what goes into my new Ink Well Press Planner. In case you are interested here are some of the links to the items I shared in the video above.

Thank so much for stopping by. If you are a blogger or youtuber, I would love to see your planers. Leave me a comment to your most recent planner videos and I will come check them out! I will also maybe share my favorites in a vlog! :)  If you are new here, I'd love it if you took a few seconds and subscribed so you don't miss anything. :)

Tuesday Talk & Truths

Happy Tuesday friends! I am back with another edition of Tuesday Talk & Truths. Hope you enjoy!

  • We got another dump of unexpected snow last night that changed today. Scott was suppose to be off work but had to go in and Jackson was suppose to go to school but it was cancelled. The snow around here is so schedule changing.
  • I ran around here like a crazy person yesterday cleaning so I could spend today with Scott but now looking back, I should have just took my time and not worried about it.
  • I totally need to start a fire but I sure don't want to do it yet. But if I don't....the electric bill will be outrageous!
  • I cleaned my desk late last night and it looks amazing. However, it won't last never does.
  • I am a little irritated by something my oldest son typed. I wish I could ban the internet from ALL the kids from the oldest to the youngest. I don't think the kids understand how inappropriate some of the things they say are.
  • I was planning on going out to get my nails done and possibly my hair cut today. Now, plans have changed because I can't go driving in this weather. I like my car too much to go out and wreck it. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
  • Scott and I are close to buying another bed and starting to sleep together again. We cuddled up and enjoyed sleeping together again on our last trip to Louisiana and we are going to try it here too. ♥
  • I wish the White House would just put me on the payroll. I have some great ideas to fix some of our current problems. Maybe I should have set my eyes on politics in college. Probably too late now. Maybe when Hillary is President she can hire me! :)
  • Scott made coffee this morning...YUM!
  • I am going to put dinner in the slow cooker in just a bit so I don't have to think about it later. Maybe its a recipe that I will share because it's so good.
  • I have so many emails to respond to. Maybe during this cold snow day, I can get to replying. If you are expecting a email back... keep a look out!
  • TMZ & The Daily Mail get way too much of my time.
  • Cooper - our big golden retriever and 3 cats are sleeping the couch right now...looks like they are snuggling up and trying to keep warm too....on this very cold day.
  • I have so many giveaways lined up. Exciting! Be sure to check back often and get entered.
  • I am stuck on time period movies. Seriously...its a obsession of mine. Right now while the snow falls, I am watching Becoming a Lady...and so far it's really good! I might just stay in my pjs all day. I'm not even joking.
  • I am not so happy about Scott being at work today either. However, they covered for him while we were in Louisiana for 3 days so it's his turn now. I guess it's only fair.
  • I'm so jittery... guess that's a sign of too much coffee. Maybe its more of a hot cocoa day.
  • I feel sorry for all the birds right now. They are jumping all around on the patio furniture. I need to remember to get bird food for them when I go out again. Maybe Jackson and I can make some homemade bird feeders...sounds fun!
  • I just did a planner haul video and then last night I get online and ordered a lot more. I knew I should have waited to record that video. I guess I will share it in a planning sessions video or vlog.
  • The house is pretty clean from all my work yesterday and I love it.
  • Jackson has been doing more evening chores. He might not like it but I sure appreciate the dishwasher being cleaned out and the trash taken out. :)
  • I have the sweetest housesitter ever. She is so nice and does a great job. She even shoveled snow and ice so Cooper wouldn't slip. I actually was running late the day we left and forgot to do a bunch of stuff like sit out the dry cat food, wash Coopers dishes, and a few other things that she handled for me.
  • I need to package up my sisters hookah and get it mailed this week. That job needs to go on the to do list before I forget it again.
  • I am so tired of cold weather. The snow is pretty but I sure wish I was sitting on a warm beach right now. Hawaii sounds nice.
  • My voicemail is so full that no one else can leave a message. It's just not a good way to get a hold of me. I hate listening to them all.

  • Thanks so much for stopping by! I will  be back with a new video in just a bit! Stay tuned. ♥

Day in the Life Vlog: Week in Review February 16 - 22, 2015 & To Do's

    Monday, February 23, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog always and then another on Thursday. Monday's vlog will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the previous week and Thursdays vlog will be for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Actually I might be adding more vlogs in during the week...depending on how much I vlog.

Here's whats been going on this past week:

This past week started off with winter at it's finest. I don't get it. Aren't we suppose to be moving into spring!? Well, Monday the snow blew in to South Carolina and while we didn't get near as much as so many of you guys, we got enough to shut the town down. I was actually out shopping when I looked through the department store windows and saw snow flying around. Scott was calling non stop asking me to pick up the pace with the shopping and get home. He's a typical husband who doesn't want his wife out driving on snowy icy roads. So I did just as he asked and got home. It was barely covering the porch at that time but as the night fell, it picked up and we got a nice little dump of snow in our neighborhood. The happiest one in the house about it was our Super Cooper. He pranced right out the door and playing out in the yard for a while. I have to admit...I might like the no snow area but just for a couple of days, we had a winter wonderland.

Tuesday morning the neighborhood kids were out sledding and giggling. It was worth it. I spent Tuesday cleaning and packing to get ready for our trip. I stuck to my mighty to do list and got it done. Jackson was out of school and actually helped around the house which I totally appreciated. We had a lot to get done in a short amount of time. By time I hit the bed on Tuesday, I was exhausted. I had everything mostly packed but still a few things to finish up in the morning before we had to leave.

Morning came wayyyy to fast. I was kinda grumpy and I moving at a snails pace. Scott was being the cheerleader trying to pep us up to get things finished up so we could leave. It was lunch time before we were on the road. The major highways were not so bad but the ice on the trees looked so beautiful. We all settled in for an 11 hour trip one way. Scott did the driving while Jackson and I kept busy with the electronics.

I was happy that I could actually plug my laptop into an outlet in the car...yep! I love that... and then I hooked up my phone to it and got perfect internet while driving down the highway. It's called tethering and it allowed me to work for many hours. However, I blew through our data and actually had to call and up the plan from the car. Opps. It really helped pass time and it was so fun doing the Wednesday Hodgepodge with Scott. How often does that happen!? It was worth it.

We arrived at the hotel around 830pm. We picked the Holiday Inn this time and it was pretty nice. It was a bit smaller than the last room we had but we didn't need a full kitchen. The hotel is new and really comfortable. We were in there only long enough to clean up before we were off to Buffalo Wild Wings for a quick easy dinner. With our full bellies we headed back to the room for some sleep for the early morning that was going to show up wayyyyyy too soon.

Scott and I actually woke up in pretty good moods and managed to get ready without even waking Jackson up. Guess he was super tired too. It was a long day of appointments but we just went with the flow of things and didn't stop until we finished everything. Jackson stayed in the hotel and during a break we grabbed him some lunch and dropped it off before speeding away to the next place we had to go. We ended the night with a quick dinner at Applebees. Mashell, a sweet online friend sent us a gift certificate for dinner on our trip. It was so sweet, kind and touching. These trips have been really expensive but we are getting by with the grace of God. And we are very thankful for the love and support from our family and friends. I wish I could update you guys on what happened but I just can't. Even still we need your prayers and faith that everything will work out.

Friday morning we were back in the car heading home. I can't even begin to explain how uncomfortable 11 hour car rides are for me at this point. We thought about flying but it would cost more with the tickets and rental car so Scott prefers to drive it but once night sets in.....its so hard. But Scott drove the entire way home even though I was asking over and over if he needed help but I think he was on a mission to get us home. We had 2 wrecks we had to wait on and lots of traffic in the Atlanta area. We arrived back at the house around 10pm,

When we walked in all the cats kinda looked scared but Cooper was jumping all around super happy to see us. It was long before the kitty cat tales went up and they came alive. Speaking of the cats, we are starting the process of Romeo being a therapy kitty cat. He is so laid back and would be so great to take in hospitals or what have you to pick up kids and adults spirits. So were doing it!

Once we got in and settled we all kinda split up and had some alone time. After being in the car and hotel together for 4 days, we needed the break. One thing that I actually missed that night was Scott in the bed. We slept together every night on our travels and it was rather nice. I think we might just switch things around and start sleeping together again. We do here some but its so much easier to go to bed on our own that we have been kinda lazy about it. However, I kinda liked it and might just get a new king bed to cozy up in. :)

The weekend started with us back home and I got busy doing all the housewife life duties that I have which included grocery shopping, cleaning, laundry and then on Saturday I tackled our insane plastics cabinet. Its been driving me crazy so I got rid of a lot of the pieces without lids and such and moved it all to a top cabinet. It's easier for my family to keep it organized if it's a cabinet on top. The bottom cabinets they seem to just toss things in because they don't want to bend down. Honest to God I am still figuring our family out. I guess learning about each other and learning how to make things work for us is never ending. ♥

Sunday showed up and it was just a lazy day for the most part. We all just hung out and relaxed until Scott and I jumped in the car and took off to run errands. I totally feels like we have been living in the car lately. Once we got home, Scott actually cooked his own fish dinner, Jackson and I had dinners that we liked so it was super easy. We watched the Oscars for as long as could handle it and then found other things to watch. It's just sooooooo long. I ended the night with dying my hair, editing videos and talking to one of my best friends.

And here we are! Lots going on this week.. here's some of my to do's. :)

    This weeks to dos

    • Do weekly cleaning today......and tomorrow. I have just had too much online work here lately.
    • Write out thank you notes and mail.
    • Work in planner.
    • Keep up with Yoga routine.
    • Get to bed earlier.... and shut the computer sooner too.
    • Clean the oven.
    • Get nails done.
    • Call Dr. re Jackson.
    • Try to keep up with videos... PRERECORDS as much as possible.
    • Have more patience with Scott and Jackson.
    • Work on Trader Joes grocery list.
    • Spend 1 hour in my closet this week picking it up and organizing.
    • Start a new book.
    • Remember to put Cooper on the treadmill every other day.
    • Clean out Jackson's backpack.

    • Test out a new bread machine recipe.
    • Clean more windows. There are so many windows in this takes forever to get them all clean.
    • Use fireplace more. February's electric bill was a bit high.
Here's some inspiration to take a long with you throughout the week:

I hope you are having a beautiful Monday! I have a busy to do list just for today and I am running behind. I am going to be working into the evening to catch up. It's trying to warm up around here and melting most of the snow. I am so ready for spring. Thanks so much for stopping by!   If you are new here, I'd love it if you took a few seconds and subscribed so you don't miss anything. :)

Weekly Food & Household Shopping Haul | Video |

    Sunday, February 22, 2015

Hello friends! I hope your Sunday evening is going well. We are settled in watching the Oscars trying to escape the fact that Monday is right around the corner. It's a new week, which means a new food and household shopping haul. I went to Ingles and Walmart to get the best meats and the cheapest household items. If you want some menu ideas and to see what we got, enjoy the video below!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I don't know what it is about food hauls but so many of us love them, myself included! I'll be back tomorrow with my WIR blog post! Come back and visit. If you are new here, take a second to subscribe so you don't miss any new videos! :)

    Sunday Inspiration

Happy Sunday friends! I hope you are having a wonderful afternoon. I am hanging out with Scott and Jackson today but I thought I would take a few minutes to write a Sunday Inspiration blog post.  It's just a time when I can look back and concentrate on the miracles, challenges, and happenings that God has put into my life. Hope you enjoy. ♥

Scott and I have a beautiful family. We have healthy loving kids who are doing their best to figure out who they are along with trying to navigate through all the paths this life gives all of us. However the younger kids are giving us a run for our money this year. Thanks to this wonderful internet, they have been subjected to things they should never have to see. I think as parents is our job to stay ahead of technology to protect them. But what happens when they are around other children at school, sleep overs, and even at home sometimes when other parents don't do the same? Well let me tell you that is something we have been running into here lately and it's caused us some trouble in our family with our kids. We had our family trip down south that was stressful enough on its own, only to come home and have to deal with internet issues on the other kids.

I won't say that it's life altering or anything but happened to kids being kids? Why is everything starting so fast for them now? I guess it's all the access to the internet and just the changing times. This is really uncharted waters for us. We have a 25 year old who married with her family. My oldest son lives with his grandparents and is pretty immature but still older and then we have two 12 year old boys and a 13 year old daughter. The oldest two are past this point but we are still running as fast as we can to stay ahead of the little kids. Then we think we are ahead of the game only to realize that the kids at school who's parents are not monitoring showing other kids. It amazes me how much fast children destroy everything we are doing. I have felt pretty defeated here lately but I have been praying more for grace, understanding, and patience. Sadly, we are not the only influences in our kids lives. But during these times, I realize that I am not going to stop doing my part in protecting our children.

It's hard for me to accept that we are finally at the point where the outside influences are coming into their lives. We have controlled the tv, internet and phones for a while now..and we have even controlled their friends to a big degree but we are coming to the point where we can only hope our influence is the best and most constant. Our hope is that God's influence trumps all. From our prayers to theirs, we want them to take the path that God has laid out for each of them. I know that will bring trials and tribulations along the way but in the end, I hope they are happy healthy kind people. That's my hope for all of our kids. I have come to think that the influences that I don't like will come and go through their entire lives. If they keep their faith strong, they will be able to just kinda pass through those times moving on to something better. It's been a challenge with all the kids here lately. I have been reading a new parenting book which I will come back and discuss at another time. I have a wonderful support system who I call upon in good times as well as bad to give me their fresh insight into whatever situation is going on. I can't even begin to tell you how important they are in my life and the kids lives too. It takes a village and I need all their support.

Life is a bunch of challenges and parenting is the hardest job on the planet. Each day there is something new happening or changing. And as scary as it is, I have to just go with the flow and keep an open heart with a lot of forgiveness to get through it all. We have to let the kids be themselves and grow up but in the right time. Just because some of their friends are doing things/seeing things or saying things does not mean our children will follow suit. We will remain strong in our faith and convictions and let God lead the way.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your Sunday is going well. I am hanging out with Scott and Jackson and have a food haul coming up in a bit! Stay tuned.

February Open Ipsy Bag! | Video |

    Saturday, February 21, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great evening! I am slowly trying to get back into the grove of things since we got back from our trip last night. This video was actually suppose to go live on Friday but I just didn't have the time! Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that gives you normally 5 items along with a cute bag each month for $10. It's one of my favorite subscriptions because I use those little bags for everything! If you want to see what I got this month, enjoy the video.

This months bag is " Ipsy Love" . It's a pink and grey diamond check bag that I actually like a lot! You don't always get everything they share on the website in each bag. I have heard others talk about this often and it has happened to me too. Some months are better than others but for $10 it's always a hit no matter what comes in the little bag!

If you are interested in signing up for ipsy, you can use this link right here to get started! It's by far one of my favorite monthly subscriptions ever! If you are new here, take a second to subscribe so you don't miss any new videos! :)

In the Kitchen w/ Kisha: Magic Strainer Review & Giveaway!

    Thursday, February 19, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great Thursday! I am back today to share a new kitchen gadget that I was recently sent to test out. It's always so fun trying and testing kitchen gadgets out so I had to accept when Magic Mil offered to send me one of their Magic Strainer. Its one thing to test it out but it's another thing for the gadget to stay in my kitchen. Check out the video below to see if it made the cut or not and......there's a giveaway! So have a watch, and be sure to get entered!

So as you could see, the Magic Strainer worked so well. I loved how the size of it was interchangeable and easy to use. The bright green and white strainer itself is made of a very high quality silicon that is super heat resistant up to 400 degrees. I thought they had to be crazy but I have put this strainer in my oven many times to keep steamed broccoli warm and it never melted or had any kind of issues. It's not plastic! It can also go in the frig or freezer too.

I have used this for so many things over the past month. Its perfect for anything thing that needs strained and it works great for steaming too. The handle is super long helping keep your hand away from the heat without needing a glove. But you will need one to pull it out of a hot oven. As you could see in the video above, the water flows super fast through the little holes. Its super easy to use and super effective. They are large enough for liquids to flow through fast but small enough where you don't loose any food.

One of the best things about this strainer is how it folds down to 1" making it perfect in small kitchens where space is limited. You can lay it flat or hang it up and its going to take up very little room. With just the flick of the wrist you can have this open and ready to use. Another good thing to point out about the handles length is it fits across the sink. It works super well to just let the strained food sit there and drain for a minute on their own. So it's the perfect size all the way around!

Cleaning it is super easy. It cleans up just fine in the dishwasher. The top rack is recommended but I have put it on top and bottom and both worked just fine. I do like to have it all the way open for cleaning so no spots are missed. I have also cleaned it by hand and it washed up in seconds.

So lets get on with the giveaway. This giveaway will be going on today February 19, 2015 - March 5, 2014.... so you have 2 weeks to get entered! This giveaway is open to residents of the US only. If you are under 18 years old you must have your parent's permission to enter.  The one winner will win a Magic Strainer that I will be mailing out myself. You can enter by following the directions in the Rafflecopter widget posted below.   I’ll announce the winners on THIS blog and post contact the winner directly through email.  Good luck!

In the meantime, if you love this strainer as much as I do and want to go on and purchase it, you can find it here at a discount of $13.77. You could totally order this for any home cook for a birthday, holiday or just for yourself and not have to wait on the giveaway to end!
