Friday Letters

Friday, October 30, 2015

Dear God, I am so thankful I have you to listen and sometimes answer my prayers. I don't understand everything happening in our world but I trust that you will take care of us here just like you will when we cross over. Please watch over my children. Dear Grandma, it was so nice talking to you. I am sorry I don't call more. I normally hang up the phone crying but this last time I hung up smiling inside because you heard me say I love you. I miss you grandma and hopefully I will be able to see you over Christmas.Dear Domino's, Thank you for feeding my family tonight. Totally appreciated the help!

October Favorites | Household & Beauty |

Thursday, October 29, 2015

Hello friends. I know it's a bit late for a blog post but I thought why not! Tonight I am sharing a new video going over some of my October favorites. It had been a long day so please excuse the messy hair and tired disposition. :) I am just happy I was able to get in front of the camera and get a video recorded. Hope you enjoy!

Today we had 2 major appointments and a busy day/evening at home. I am so ready for a long hot bath so tomorrow I can get busy shopping for a few groceries and items we need for the house. I'll try to record a haul and have it up tomorrow evening. I hope you have had a great Thursday! I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!

Catching Up Vlog! | Dodging Fireballs |

Wednesday, October 28, 2015

Hello everyone. Happy Wednesday to you all. I know things have been a little a lot busy around here and I just haven't taken the time to sit down and either blog or to film very much. There is not a ton of footage from last week, but I am sharing what I have and then I kinda catch up with you guys. Hope you enjoy.

Life has been really busy and crazy around here. Lots of things have been coming our way and as I mentioned....I feel like I have been dodging fireballs from every direction. It's nothing we can't handle though. :) I am trying to get back on schedule but it's proved harder than I expected. I don't know why it is that when you do wander off the beaten path/schedule it's hard finding your way back. I feel like I have a ton to catch up with and the only way I can do that is to put one foot in front of the other and do it.

If you feel like sharing, let me know how you have been doing and what fireballs you have been dodging as well! Life can be complicated for us all but it's how we face it that really matters. I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!

Weekly Food Shopping Haul Video w/ Menu Plan | Ingles |

Wednesday, October 21, 2015

Hello friends! I hope your evening is going well. I have a few minutes and thought I would share our new menu plan for the upcoming days plus all the groceries we got for those dinners and a few extras. This time I went to my local Ingles and I don't think I saved as much as my last haul when I shopped at Aldi's but I had some extra stuff to get so Ingles just seemed right. Hope you enjoy!

I can't even put to words how busy and crazy the day has been. I don't think it's going to slow down either. I worked online a lot today switching up this blog. It might be slight changes but the amount of time that went into changing them was not slight. Working with code does not come naturally to me and took a lot of concentration. We have birthday's coming up this week and there is so much to do to get ready. Scott has a lot going on too so again....another busy crazy day just hours away. I need some rest! See ya tomorrow. xx I'd love it you took a second to subscribe!

Tuesday Truths

Tuesday, October 20, 2015

Hello everyone. Here's another edition of Tuesday Talks and Truths.

- I've had a busy day...hence the latest of the hour with this post. :) I am worn out but still pressing on. I can't wait to fall in the bed later tonight.

- I picked out a new blog template because of the jumpiness ( wow...that's seriously a word! ) of this template. I am not sure what day it will be installed but hopefully this week sometime.....on a less busy day!

- I  have been having a lot of trouble sleeping here lately. I fall asleep but just feel like it's not a really sound kind of sleep. I wake up feeling tired. Not sure what is going on but I really want to get it fixed. However, I don't have faith that I will EVER be caught up.

- I am wanting a big kitty cat. Not too practical but a Bengal would be fun to have around.

- I hate ironing. Have I told you guys that yet!? I mostly go around in wrinkled clothes by choice. Thankfully when anything really does need ironed, Scott handles it.

- Tonight's dinner of chicken soft tacos was so good! It was the perfect meal tonight being the roast never made it into the oven or crockpot. It was fresh and yummy!

- The house is looking better and better. I am working hard on getting it cleaned up and decluttered. A never ending job!

- Jackson has been debating his bedtime for days. He drags his butt so slow every morning and is always wanting to stay up later. Yea... NOT!

- I love living pretty much in the back of the house. Most of the rooms I am in, face the back and I love it. Even if it's not gives me a better sense of privacy. I know many think because I work online with this blog and videos, that privacy is not a big deal to me.  → Wrong. ←

- I hate it so much when my kids are in pain or heartbroken. I hate it....I hate it....I hate it.

- My best friends husband has been traveling around the world the past while and he is finally home and I couldn't be more happy for them.

- I really want a nail and pedi day. I have a feeling though life is not going to allow to happen for a while. :(

- I need to check on our daughters. They both have been quiet today...hummmm! I am so proud of our girls....all the kids really.

- I need a yesterday.

- Cooper hurt his leg again. I don't know why that dog of ours is falling apart but it's hard to watch. Time to make another Vet appointment if it doesn't heal up soon. I had to bandage it and even though he doesn't like it... it's for his own good.

- I went to the grocery store and came home with 2 pretty new green pens. I don't know why that makes me so happy but it does! :)

- I gave my mom some not so good news and she totally laughed her way right out of it. I wish I could get her to take me serious but it's just not going to happen. At least she is in good spirits!

- Becoming Mary Jane is back on tonight and I love this show. Check it out...its on BET with Gabrielle Union. Love it!

I hope you guys had a great day. I have a new haul up on Youtube → right here ← because I am not going to get up here till tomorrow.  See ya soon! xx

Week in Review w/ DITL Vlog and Weekly To Do's October 12 -19, 2015

Monday, October 19, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog always and then another on Thursday. However this week, I am only sharing one vlog. Hope you enjoy!

This past week:

Life around our house has been pretty busy. Things have changed up not only with things around here but also with the seasons, the weather and so much more. For a while I have felt pretty defeated and behind. However, the past few days I feel like I am a little more caught up and hopefully by the end of the week, I will actually be really caught up. I decided just to get the house back in order I would basically zone clean my entire house in one week. Here's the breakdown of how I will be getting it done.

I will still continue my daily routines and also do my weekly cleaning in the middle of the week however I am adding...

Monday: Living Room & 1st floor Bath
Tuesday: Dining Room & Stairs
Wednesday: Bedrooms & 2nd floor hallway
Thursday: 2nd floor Bathrooms & Laundry Room
Friday: Kitchen
Saturday: Kitchen
Sunday: Garage & Porches

That's a lot right!? Well I figure if I really bust my butt in those areas on the particular days I will be able to rest and feel a lot better. My plans are to declutter the area first and fast. Then do some deep cleaning. I don't mind if I have to work into the evenings to get things cleaned up and organized. It doesn't have to be perfect but I really want to concentrate and be productive and maybe just maybe feel caught up even if it is just for a short time. :) I gave the kitchen 2 days because I feel like that room on its own is going to take a while. And anything else I want to get done, I can include after this week. I am sure there will be many things that I miss but hopefully this plan will work.  Follow along if you wish!

Besides that, life has been really good around here. We got to see Scott a little bit more this past week which is nice and unusual at the same time. We have made some great family memories and we have even been enjoying the Harry Potter series.

Yep! I totally wanted to see all the movies in order and I think we are up to the 5th movie. It's been fun. :) I also just started a new series that I had heard a lot about just never took the time to watch it. → The Good Wife. I just started watching this last night and didn't even realize that there is 7 series so far and it's still on. 7 years on the air is a long time for a weekly show. After watching 3 episodes  I am hooked and really like it! With the cooler weather we have been turning on the tv more and enjoying some tv. I wish I would have found this series over the summer when there was nothing on o-well! It's an option for nights when I don't find anything on.

Our weekend was pretty easy going. We did go out for burgers on Saturday night but that was about it. We stayed in and enjoyed our time together. Sunday it was all about resting for the first part of the day and then as evening approached, we started prepping for the new week. Thank goodness I am caught up on a lot of the household chores since I want to do so much around the house. I feel like today I am getting a late start considering it took a while to get this post done, plus all kinds phone calls coming in and going out. I still have a lot of hours today and the two rooms I am working in today are not huge but it will take me some time. Actually here are some of my to do's for this week....

:: Get focused on what tasks I really want to accomplished this week. NO Excuses.
:: Answer Emails
:: Buy birthday cards that need mailed.
:: Pre record as many videos for this week today and tomorrow.
:: Get ass back on treadmill.
:: Get nails done or paint them myself.
:: Clean up desk and file papers away.
:: Clean up dvr
:: Finish planning for Jackson's vacation.
:: Clean out cat boxes...Yuck!
:: Decorate house for fall.
:: Seriously look for some's really starting to cool down outside!
:: Update chalkboard walls.
:: Go spend all my Khols cash before they expire! :)
:: Toss out old grill.
:: Clean up old files on laptop.
:: Get my ass back on the treadmill.
:: Wash sweaters and jackets this week.
:: Try to brush out a kitty cat a night till all of them are done.
:: Continue not drinking sodas.

I didn't get a Sunday inspiration post up yesterday. It's hard to write a spiritual kind of blog post while Harry Potter is blaring through the speakers on the tv! But I did want to say that I am so amazed by Gods grace even in times of complete and utter disappointment, worry, doubt and so on. I was totally feeling defeated in an area in our room which left me feeling sad and I didn't believe anything good was going to happen. At that point, I really did just give up. I told God he could totally take over because I was at a loss of what else to do. I felt like our family was really trying but seeing no results. A week or so after praying and just giving it to God, a beautiful miracle happened. It just goes to show that maybe you just have to surrender sometimes and let the universe take of you and your troubles. If you are trying to do right and still not getting the results you want or need I suggest just letting it go. I felt a little sad just giving up but when I did God jumped right in and showed me how blessed we really are. It was a wonderful reminder that miracles big and small are always possible with his love and help.

Thank you guys so much for stopping by and getting to know us a little better. I really appreciate each one of you and I hope you have a wonderful week! xx

Aldi Food Shopping Haul & Menu Plan

Thursday, October 15, 2015

Hello everyone! Happy Thursday to you all. For today's video I thought I would share my 2nd ever trip to Aldi's. I am shocked because I feel like I got a lot for how much I spent. Idk for sure because I don't really do price books but I think we came out pretty good. If you want an idea of the meals we will be having this week, plus the groceries we got, enjoy the video! :)

I think I will start doing some mini reviews on some of the products I have found at Aldi's.  I know that many of you have been shopping at Aldi's for a while but it's still pretty new to me. :) I didn't need a ton of produce this trip but I last time I loaded up and it all tasted great! If you have favorites from Aldi's I would love to hear what they are!

I hope your afternoon is going well. I am busy around the house trying to get things cleaned up and organized....which never lasts for long! :) xx

Easy Homemade NO BAKE Chocolate Chip Granola Bar Recipe! | Video |

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

Hello friends! I hope your day is going well. I here today sharing a fun easy delicious recipe for some homemade NO BAKE chocolate chip granola bars. This recipe is really really easy to make and could be made super fast before rushing out the door to work and/or school. Then they could be cut after you have returned. I love this was adapted from a Rachel Ray Recipe that can be switched up in so many ways. I made a huge batch but below you will find the recipe for a standard batch or you could follow the measurements in the video for a full cookie sheet worth of granola bars. Hope you enjoy!

Here's the recipe: ( I actually quadrupled it )

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup honey
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 cups quick cooking oats {not rolled oats!}
1 cup crispy rice cereal
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons mini chocolate chips

In a large bowl, stir oats and rice cereal together. Set aside. In a small pot, melt butter, honey and brown sugar together over medium high heat until it comes to a bubble. Reduce the heat and cook 2 minutes. Pour in vanilla and stir. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well to moisten all ingredients. Pour into lightly greased small jelly roll pan {about 12x8x1} and press out to be about 3/4 inch in thickness. {If your pan isn't small enough, pack the mixture into one side. You really want to press them down so they stick together.} Sprinkle with mini chocolate chips and press down lightly. Cool on a counter top to room temperature for two hours or until the chocolate chips are set before cutting into bars. Wrap in parchment or plastic wrap and store at room temperature.

Recipe Notes:
If your granola bars don't seem to be staying together when you cut them, you may have not boiled the mixture long want it to make it just past the softball stage. OR you made them too thin or you didn't pack them in tight enough. Stick them in the fridge for 20 minutes and that should help keep them together. {Be sure not to keep them in there too long or else they'll become super hard!} The next time you make them, try boiling for an extra 15 seconds or so.

This is a delicious recipe that I bet your family would love as much as mine does. I don't have any issues storing these in the pantry and they never last long! If you have any questions or comments be sure to let me know. :)

Try the World - Spain - October 2015

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great night!  am back sharing a new Try the World monthly subscription box that I am excited to share with you.  Try the World  is a monthly food service that gives you treats and delicious foods to try from different countries. It's always fun when Scott joins in and helps make videos. He works a lot and it's not always easy to get him on camera but for our Spain box.....he showed up! Yea!! Here's the video, I hope you enjoy!

This is such a fun box to get. As I explained in the video, I choose not to open and taste test items on camera because I didn't want to have to use them right away.  We don't always use the products fast but its kinda interesting when we do pull something out of the box to add to dinner or a new seasoning we try out . I just love this box! If you are interested you can sign up right here and you will get $15 off your first box! xx

Tuesday Truths

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great day. I am back sharing another Tuesday Truths blog post. Hope you enjoy!

- We have had a lot going on around here and I feel so behind. But baby steps right!? Scott, Jackson and myself did some traveling and once we got home there was piles of laundry to do, kitty cats to groom, a house to clean and so much more.

- Hilary is on tonight and I am totally watching that debate. Ha! I wish Obama could be voted in again...I think he could get the votes yet again! :)

- Jackson left me a little note asking me to please remember to pick up his glasses today. :) Too funny. I have forgotten them for a while because he's in his old glasses and it totally slips my mind. Gotta get them today!!!! → Note to self! ←

- The wind is blowing and leaves are falling off the trees. Fall is beautiful and I love it.

- I got one of the kitty cats groomed up last night. Gabby had a few mattes in her fur and I had to get them out before they got worse. She is all laid out on the treadmill right now so I guess Gabby is happy!

- I gave in and ordered pizza for dinner. Scott and Jackson loved it and I have to admit....I thought it was really good too!

- With so much going on Scott took a couple days off work. We have a lot that we have to take care of and he never gets the time with all the hours he works. So a little vacation time will hopefully pay off. I have set him up appointments, and made a to do list as long as my leg for him to complete before he goes back to never ending hours. I guess it's just the nature of the business but I am glad hes here getting stuff done.

- I need to record some videos asap. Sorry but life has been crazy and family has to come first. This is kinda a job and it does pay me but still...taking care of all the kids and my family has to come first.

- My mom has totally been re doing her kitchen. She's been so busy but from what I hear...her kitchen looks amazing!

- My workout schedule has been a little messed up. I hate it too but things have been so busy and crazy that I just haven't been able to make the time. I even forgot to put my fitbit back on one night and walked all day without. I couldn't believe it when I looked down and realized it was not on. Grrrrrrrr.....hopefully by next Monday the house will be back in order, I will be caught up with all my online work and can get back at it! Hang in there with's been a super busy few days.

- I have been told by a very wise woman that I don't need to worry as much or be stressed out.  All words my grandmother told me and words I need to remember.

- I need to get some pumpkins soon so we can get to carving! It's always such a fun night in the house!

- Scott just got an iphone and it's been a task trying to get it all set up for him. I guess we are all switching over in our family.

- My sister in law proved a good point today about location. I can't speak too much of it but it was sure helpful.

- I need to go to the grocery store today but first need to menu plan. So much going on and so little time.

Anyway, I hope your day is going well. So sorry for missing in action for the last few days but I am trying to get back on schedule and hopefully things will go as planned. I have a new video coming up later today. See ya in a bit!

Inkwell Press Review & Compare 2016 LiveWell Planner | Video, Corresponding Blog Post & Giveaway! |

Tuesday, October 6, 2015

Hello friends! Happy Tuesday to you all. I am back talking about and sharing something I totally love to talk about → Planners! Today I am going over the 2016 Inkwell Press Live Better Planner. In the video below, I am sharing some of the new 2016 Inkwell Press products I recently purchased during the new launch. I also compare the 2016 with my current 2015 Inkwell Press Planner sharing the differences. There are more pictures below and the entry form for the giveaway. Hope you enjoy!

It's no secret that I am in total love with Inkwell Press. I think the planners are so nice and it's been a blessing of sorts to have finally found a planner that I adore and have used for a year straight. Planner Peace if you will! I have a ton of videos on the 2015 Inkwell Press Planner that you can check here if you are interested! Now, lets have a look at all the new planner goodies!

First off, the packaging is super nice. You can tell that they really take care in packaging up their planners and products in a beautiful box. I personally wouldn't care if the planners came in a garbage bag because I love mine so much. They also include a few cards and samples of some of their products like the sheet from the Weekly Kickstarter Pad. All super nice additions to your purchase.

Now on to the planner: I picked the Wood Chevron Classic LiveWell Planner. The classic is a vertical design that I have really grown to love! This new 2016 planner is a bit smaller than the 2016 with a page size of 7 x 9. It's just a bit smaller but more portable to toss in a bag or to carry around. You can barely tell a difference and they designed the planner with the same amount of writing room. One of the most wonderful parts of this planner is the thick paper. It has 140gsm paper making it the heaviest paper I have ever seen in a planner. It's one of the many reasons I am sticking with this planner in 2016. You just can't and won't find another planner with this kind of paper.

There are some more subtle changes in the 2016 planners. The font has been changed around to a cursive kind of font that I like so much better than the block lettering. I think it makes it look more lady like. Also they switched around the order of the pages a little and added some additional color schemes. You will also find a lined note section in the monthly layout opposed to no lines in that area in the 2015 planners. Also there is a new bill tracker page in the back in the planner that was only available for download before....and now it's right there for us!

More about this Classic Planner:
    • 9 x 7" Pages
    • 3 Daily Boxes to Help Prioritize
    • Premium Hard Cover Design
    • Attached Elastic Band Closure
    • Superior Wire-O Binding
    • Lay Flat/ Fold Over Construction
    • Mylar Coated Tabs
    • Heavy Weight 140 GSM Paper
    • Full Color Offset Printing
    • Hold Anything Accordion Pocket
    • Double Sided Pocket Folder
    • Removable Ruler/Page Marker
    • 2 Page Monthly Spreads
    • 2 Page Weekly Spreads
    • Yearly & Monthly Goal Tracking Sheets
    • Extra Goodies for Gifts, Travel and More

When I put in my order I got a few extras:

LiveWell Planner Stamp: The liveWELL Planner Stamp is designed to work with the daily boxes of your planner. Words included within the stamp:

    * goals * home * social * gratuity * errands * tasks * hydrate * priorites * meals * shopping * health * reflection

Stripped Washi Sheet Sticker Set: The striped washi sheet style sticker is designed to coordinate perfectly with the 4 colored layouts of our planners. Each set comes with 6 sheets and each sheet has  53 shapes for a total of 318 stickers in a set. It comes with:

     * 11 Hexagons * 6 Pointed Flags * 2 Long Skinny Strips * 2 Long Thicker stripes * 26 Mini Squares * 6 Ribbon Flags

Sewn Journal | Daring Adventure | Each of their sewn journals are handmade for by an artisan. Little details make this book feel even more special with the hand rounded corners, hand sewn binding and beautiful gold foil stamping. It has the signature note paper with gridded lines and space for noting your date and subject. This could be used for sooooo many different things and I absolutely love it!

Since I love the journal so much...I am giving one away to one of you lucky subscribers/blog friends plus an adorable pen from The Calico Bear on Etsy!  I just thought they go perfect together!

This giveaway will run from today October 6, 2015 until Tuesday October 20, 2015   The giveaway is open to US Residents only. All entrants under the age of 18 must have parental permission to enter.  You can enter by following the directions in the Rafflecopter widget posted below.   I’ll announce the winners on THIS blog and post contact the winner directly through email.  :)  Good luck!

    a Rafflecopter giveaway

There are a ton of reasons I can go into on why this planner is so special to me. I think it's very well made. I think the company is wonderful and there are actual some additional perks to anyone who does get a planner. Tonya from Inkwell Press sends out planner setup videos as soon as your planner ships to help you get the most out of it. She shows you how to set it up to make your life more easier and functional. I don't know any other planner companies who do that for their customers. Additionally there are downloads that you can print off anytime and add to your planner. These planners are of super high quality but they are not over priced coming in around $54 each. That's not bad at all for such a nice planner. I think it looks more mature and grown up than our beloved Erin Condren Life Planners. I use to totally love that planner and company but once I found out about Inkwell Press, it was over. I just couldn't go back. Customer service is amazing and I couldn't possibly be happier with another planner.
I am going to finish out the year with my 2015 Inkwell Press Planner and then jump right into the new one come January! Right now these planners are sold out. However, they should be restocked in November. I will for sure let you all know when they are available. I actually plan on buying the A5 Inserts to try out around that time myself. There are a bunch of the journals in stock and planning supplies so check out the website and see if anything interests you. If you are interested in ordering something you can click right here and get $10 off your first order of $50 or over. :) I would love to know what planner you  think is impossible to live without! Planners are so personal to each of us and what works for me, might not work so well for you. Share your thoughts! xx

    DITL VLOG('s): Week in Review September 28 - October 5, 2015 w/ To Do's

    Monday, October 5, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a wonderful Monday. As many of you know... I post a week in review recapping what happened over the week & weekend. Its something that I have been doing off and on for years. Its just a simple way to give you guys a glimpse into our week. I have changed up the vlogging schedule where I will be uploading a Day in the life vlog always and then another on Thursday. Monday's vlog will cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the previous week and Thursdays vlog will be for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. So here is the most recent day in the life vlog from this past weekend. Hope you enjoy!

And here is the day in the life vlog from the beginning of the week! I have already posted this but I like to share it again in the week in review post because both vlogs were from the same week.

    This Past Week:

This weekend was all about the weather here in South Carolina. Well...many other areas besides our state but we have been dealing with a ton of high winds and rain. It's just has not stopped. I am sure there are a ton more leaves that have fallen off too with the weather we are having. I'm really not complaining though. After seeing all the destruction the water has caused our state, I feel grateful to have a warm safe house to ride out the storm in. We are not floating down the road or being evacuated and I am truly grateful for that alone. I hate it for all the outside animals but most are probably hiding out until this is over. It's even been hard for me to sleep with those winds. It's really loud in the dead of the night. However, today the sun is shinning and hopefully trying to dry it up some.

During the beginning of the week, we went out for a fun date night at a fundraiser for the March of Dimes. It was a chance to get dressed up a little and have a fun dinner while supporting a great cause. I choose to not wear super high heels because of all the walking and running I had been doing. It was a wise choice since we had to do a lot of walking. It was fun and Scott and I had a great time. We got home before 10pm but we were both so tired that we pretty much fell right into the beds and went to sleep. I guess we are getting old or something but it just wore us out!
It could have been all the tasty food. Even though I have been watching what I eat, I decided that all day leading up to the dinner, I would eat very little so I could indulge and try all the yummy foods that the chefs were offering. Pretty much a lot of really good chefs from the local restaurants sets up booths around the ball room and you go booth to booth getting their food to try. It was mostly appetizer sizes but so much was delicious! I even had a mini cupcake and didn't feel bad about it at all! :)

There just wasn't a ton of things going on this past week. I didn't even take a ton of pictures. Kinda weird huh? I posted some to instagram but it was rather a calm week and I think I was just focusing on other things. Like working out! :) It's really not easy for me to do it either. I am someone who has never worked out, or dieted or anything like that. But I am still doing really good with my weekly goals. I figured out a better routine where I walk my 5 miles Monday - Friday and then on Saturday I workout only if I truly want to and Sunday is my off day. I really felt like my legs and feet have been through enough with all the walking that weekends needed to be easier and also I needed a resting day. I felt like having Sunday to rest my muscles to recharge me for the next week.

Also right now in our family one of our girls, Brittany Belle is in Washington with her 8th grade class. I was a little a lot worried about her being so far away not only from me but her father also. But thanks to the new technology, I have been doing a great job of keeping up with her. It's hard letting your kids go so far away from home when they are so young. I know 14 is not a baby but it still worries me and I will be super happy when I know she made it back home without any problems or issues. So far so good! She is doing great and enjoying seeing the capital for the 1st time. I also love that they understand the kids are away from home and don't mind us parents calling numerous times a day to check in.

Here's my progress from last week: You can click on the picture to enlarge it.

It hasn't been easy. Working out is not suppose to be easy or a beauty pageant. I look like a crazy person after a long workout but that really doesn't matter. I am doing it at home and even if I was out and about either walking or at a gym, I wouldn't really care. It's suppose to be hard. Each day I feel like I am getting a little stronger than the previous day. I am learning to push myself, learn my body and make the changes in the kitchen too. It's a process and really it's a life style change. And it's all about baby steps! If you want to follow along on fitbit, you can totally friend me using my email. → ←.  I plan on posting a fitness and health update on Saturday with a lot more information in case you are interested.

Today is our oldest daughter's birthday! Laura is such a sweetheart and she is a wonderful mom who is just trying to find her way in this big world. She and her husband Jerred were in a wedding over the weekend and both looked so sweet together. It's hard though because she has a houseful of babies and everyday is a new adventure in their house. We are so proud of her. Happy Birthday Laura! We love you. If you haven't checked out her blog and/or videos click here to visit her blog!

    To Do's:
    - Be more understanding
    - Check on the girls....Brittany is in Washington DC and it's Laura's Birthday!!
    - Work out all week long...break on the weekends
    - Paint nails
    - Pre Record some videos for this week.
    - Still need to figure out snap chat. I just don't get it.
    - Look for houses in Indiana. Yep..I think we have made the decision. But it will probably be after the first of the year before we move. No matter what though...we are out of this house even if we change our mind and stay here.
    - Stay awake until prayers are done...not so easy.
    - Look for some more healthy dinner ideas.
    - Groom one cat a day until the job is done.
    - Send mom links that I think she would like to see.
    - Start working on Jacksons Birthday gift.
    - Menu Plan
    - Draw some pretty fall artwork on the chalkboard wall.
    - Get to bed earlier
    - Clean up files on laptop
    - Continue to drink water...NO SODAS!

Here's some inspiration to take with you through the week!

I hope you guys are having a great day. I am about to getting in a long hard workout in. I really just want it over and out of the way so I can go on with more things I need to get done today. I actually was pretty tired and slept in later than expected thanks to Scott taking Jackson to school. I am hoping and praying that extra hour in the bed, will give me all the energy I need! Thank you guys for stopping by. I would love to hear from you if you have any thoughts on anything you saw in either vlog! I have been running behind with answering comments and emails but I am slowly trying to catch up. Just know I read EVERY comment that comes in and I am so grateful to have such fun, smart, amazing subscribers. Happy Monday! :)

What's Cookin' | Our Daily Meals | Vlog Style!

    Sunday, October 4, 2015

Hello friends! I hope your Sunday night is going well.  I am back here tonight sharing our most recent What's Cookin' videos where I share our daily meals with you vlog style. I know many of you love these videos and most nights, I try to share some of the cooking process. It's doesn't have to be perfect every night. Like I tell our oldest daughter, just try your best and serve it up! :) Hope you enjoy!

Also, it just so happened that last week, I forgot to share this video. Yep...sometimes it happens. That's why you should get subscribed to my youtube channel! :) Anyway, more dinner inspiration for ya.

Around here it's been a peaceful kind of day. I have been listening to the wind whip through the trees, grass, through the back sliding glass door airing the house out. It's nice actually. However, many here in the Carolina's are not so lucky. We are getting less rain tonight but who knows if it's going to start back up or not. I'll see ya tomorrow with a new week in review post and vlog! Have a great night. xx

My First Ever Aldi Shopping Haul!!!! | Walmart Haul |

    Saturday, October 3, 2015

Hello friends! It's a super rainy day here in the Carolina's. Actually it poured down all night. Trying to find any motivation in this weather is next to impossible. I woke up early and have basically been dozing off and on most of the day. I gotta get on the treadmill soon though and get some miles in. :) Anyway, I am back sharing a new Aldi Shopping Haul! Our town just opened a new store and I decided to check it out. It had been years since I had been in a Aldi's. I was a taken back at the way the store is set up but it works. If you forget something in that isle you are in when you go through the door, it hard to go back. You are kinda going against the traffic of the store. But I wondered through and really tried to figure out what was a good deal and what they had to offer. The truth is, I am not the best with numbers and it's hard for me to remember what things cost store to store. Maybe one of those big price books would be handy to make! Anyway, I feel like I found a lot of good deals....check out my haul to see!

I feel like for $100 I got a lot. I was kinda shocked actually. A lot of it was organic too. Fancy that! :) It was a lot faster too. The lines were long but they went a hell of a lot faster than any line in Walmart. So I think I might just have to do a little more shopping at our new Aldi's! I did go to Walmart for a few extra things and still think when I compare the two hauls, I got out with more for less at Aldi's. But I wasn't sure my picky animals would eat their brand of food but I seriously could have skipped most of the food at Walmart and found it at Aldi's. They did have apples but I thought Walmart's apples looked better and so on. I am sure I will take my time and be more thorough next time. Plus I will try to keep track of the prices better too.

I hope you enjoyed the haul. I felt like for it being my first Aldi Haul, I could have for sure filmed it better but it was a looong day and I was beyond exhausted. The house was a bit of a mess, the cats had pulled everything off the deep freeze and I just filmed around it. Plus both Jackson and Scott were home, and I had to film in a hurry. Sorry about that...I'll do better next time! How's your weekend going? I am afraid we are going to be stuck inside until Monday due to all the bad weather. I have another video coming up today that I forgot to share this past week, so be sure to come back and check it out! xx

DITL VLOG: Week in Review September 28 - October 2, 2015

    Friday, October 2, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are having a great night. I am beyond tired and I am just going to have to put Friday letters up tomorrow..sorry! I woke up today with a screaming painful headache and it's pretty much stuck around. However, I have almost gotten in 5 miles and I even went out in the rain to run errands. And for some odd reason, that cool rain and breeze felt amazing to me. Call me crazy but the weather felt pretty good to me. Anyway, I am back sharing a new Day in the Life Video sharing a few moments from this past week. Hope you enjoy!

The rest of the evening Scott and I plan on watching Jurassic World and laying around until we fall asleep. I think right now I could totally go to bed but the night continues on for at least a while longer. I hope your day was productive and blessed. I'll see ya tomorrow. xx

    Reflecting/Looking Back | September 2015 |

    Thursday, October 1, 2015

Hello friends! I hope you are doing well today. I thought since we are at the beginning of a new month, I'd share a reflecting and looking back video and blog post. I love doing these videos because I have a bunch of new subscribers whom are not familiar with all my past videos, I enjoy looking back and reflecting and I hope you enjoy it too! I am going to continue to include this very in depth blog post with this video from here on out.  Here's the video and the rest is below. :)

So with this new monthly video, I am including the reflections blog post. I use to do these on their own with no video but I thought they really compliment each other. :) However before we get into are the links to the videos I mentioned above:

Seeing: The wind whip the trees back and forth. That big storm is coming and coming fast.
    Making: Homemade Christmas gifts.....already!
Cooking: Lighter healither dinners. I'm trying to eat a better diet and really think about the food I buy and stock our home with.
Drinking: NO SODA! Mostly water but coffee and tea too!
Reading: The October issue of Martha Stewart Magazine.
Hearing: Scott ramble on. He's on speaker phone and to be honest, I don't have the patience to listen.
Wanting: My Inkwell Press Planner to come in the mail!
Looking: the treadmill a lot being it sits right in the middle of the living room. Talk about a motivator!
Playing: with Cooper in between rain storms!
Wasting: time when I worry about others think.
Bookmarking: Hedgehog Breeders. Trying to find one right when I want to pick it up has proved to be a little more difficult than I expected. I'm not giving up though!
Understanding: that patience is not always something we have...but instead something we have to work on over time.
Wishing: upon the stars that my kids will grow up into happy healthy adults who live long lives. I want to be here to see it...and know that no matter what, they will be ok.
Touching: my legs and feet a lot more with creams to help the muscle aches.
my loveEnjoying: The rain and cooler weather. It's made it much more comfortable in the house with the windows and doors open. Plus I love saving money on the electric bill.
Waiting: On Jordan to call and actually talk. So much time has passed which is sad since we all are on borrowed time. None of us know when it's going to be over either.
Planning: on hopefully having family here on Thanksgiving! :) Yea! I am pretty sure my mom and Don are coming and when I asked my sister if she could come her response was " I don't see why not since I am the one who makes the schedules!"
Liking: All the new fall shows that have come back on! I totally missed Grays Anatomy and Scandal!
Wondering: if Brittany Belle will enjoy her Washington trip as I much as I did. I hope she takes it all in and loves every minute while her father and I worry non stop until she is back home safe and sound.
Loving: My fitbit. It's so motivating and I really enjoy seeing how far along I am in the day.
Hoping: Tonight goes well at our nice dinner for the March of Dimes. Also hoping to maybe see a old friend tonight too.
    Hating: Nothing...No one...Nothing.
Needing: More hours in the day.
Smelling: The fresh brewed coffee. I might be off coke but I am not giving up my coffee! :)
Wearing: A ton of yoga pants and workout clothes. It's just easier when I am working out on and off through out the they are super comfortable! However, tonight I am wearing a pretty dress!
Pinning: Mostly my own videos. Trying to catch up with pinterest. I need to post so many recent videos still.
Learning: how to work out. It's nothing that comes to me naturally and I have to really work at it and try but so far so good!
Teaching:  Jackson how to be more efficient with his time, better manners and better eating habits. It's a lot but we are trying to mature him up a little.
Noticing: The more I walk, the easier it is. I made it 4 miles straight yesterday which is a total improvement!
    Tasting: Lots of goodies tonight...hopefully!
Knowing: that putting my trust in God is all I have to do. I know I don't have to worry about the future....I will be lead down the right path.
Thinking: Of all the things I want to get done today. My to do list is huge and I have to be ready to walk out the door around 5:30. Yikes! The clock is ticking!
Opening: A new package of stickers from Etsy!
Giggling: At the ladies on The View. I think Michelle Collins is sooooo funny!
Feeling: A little sore but over all I am very proud of myself for working so hard and getting in over 5 miles a day.
September: What a month. I finally got up off my ass and started making the changes that I have needed to make for a while. I am exercising, eat better and totally off soft drinks. It was a healthy month of sorts!

Feel free to join in and answer the questions yourself if you are a blogger! I would love to read your answers....leave a link in the comments so I can come visit. Have a great day! xx
